Band Practice

Where we work together on a Piece to achieve Harmony!

Practice Evenings

Training is held Tuesday evenings at the band hall, commencing at 7.00pm, followed by supper.

The Band Hall is located on the bank of Broken Creek, on the corner of  Gray Street and the recently named Stringer Walk in Numurkah.  First time visitors or players should contact the band to ensure accurate directions can be provided (not on google maps).

Our Repertoire

The band plays a selection of music relevant to any upcoming commitments.  Generally this includes Marches (Military Style), Hymnal arrangements, some modern works,  suitably graded classical pieces. All members are encouraged to suggest pieces for the band to play, and the repertoire is always expanding.

Our Instruments

The band is currently made up of mostly wind players, instruments including: Trumpets, Cornets, Flugel Horns, Clarinet, Saxophones, Tenor Horn, French Horn, Baritones, Euphonium, Trombones, Flute, Eb Bass, Bb Bass and a four person percussion section.  However we aim to cater for most instruments where possible.

The band has a collection of unused instruments which can be made available to players who don't have their own to use.

Our Standard

The band caters for musicians of all abilities.  Whilst some musical experience is required to participate in engagements, Band Members support the less experienced at practice. Some Tuition is provided to starting players (usually before band practice).  Please use the contact page if you have a desire to learn an instrument, and we will contact you to discuss options for tuition.

Supper

The band is not all about the music, we also have survived for a long period of time because we enjoy each others company, and support each other.  Generally there is always a cuppa and bite to eat after training, and often after a performance the members will meet for coffee at a local cafe or pub.
